Passing through on the AT and booked to stay here. Unfortunately their well pump was out so they had no water. BUT, they booked us a room at another hotel, and also shuttled us out that evening, and shuttled us back in the next morning! I have dealt with both Tom and Nancy multiple times now and can't stress enough how helpful, friendly, and truly SERVICE oriented they are. FYI, if you're a hiker and you book here, for one price you get the room, shuttles to town and back, and loaner clothes while they do your laundry for you! Book a stay! I'm sure you'll be well treated!

Definitely recommend staying here for your AT needs! It was small, quaint, and the staff was extremely personable. There was soap, shampoo, condition, and even a measured serving of coffee for the morning. In addition to them being so accommodating to our late arrival (unplanned), we called them for a shuttle back to Fontana Dam last minute and they pulled through for us. They also provided valuable input to our trail and packing plans because it was our first backpacking trip. Couldn't recommend this location enough!

Nancy is incredible!! Called to book a room for a section hike of the A T. and Nancy booked our shuttle and a room for before and after the hike and picked us up at the Visitors Center when we got back! She also allowed us to leave my truck at the Inn. The room was clean and comfortable! I would definitely recommend The Hike Inn to anybody looking for lodging around Fontana Dam!!

Thanks so much to Nancy at the Hike Inn for the incredible stay! She was so kind and helpful, with a great sense of humor. I really appreciated the shuttle to town for grocery resupply and dinner at restaurants in Robbinsville. She also kept me informed of my resupply package and even had my Smoky Mountains permit printed before my arrival. Thanks to Tom and Fred for the pickup/drop off at the trailheads with refreshments as well. Rest assured that you will be well taken care of at the Hike Inn!

Stayed here Thanksgiving day. We were supposed to stay Friday night but finished early and called Nancy to see if she had room for us. She said yes and had the room ready for us by the time we were there. She greeted us outside and walked us to our room. It's was very clean and was nice and stocked with body washes, shampoo, and plenty of clean towels for us. She even gave us a few towels to clean gear with. For 66 dollars (60 for the room and 6 for taxes) is a very good price in my opinion. There wasn't any where to eat close by so we just cooked our trail food on the large porch there. We had also used her for a shuttle to Clingsman Dome from Fontana Dam. The price was very good and Tom was great to ride with. This place is a gem hiding in the mountains. Will definitely use them again if in the area.

Nancy and Tom are the nicest folks. The rooms are super clean and have everything you need. One of the best places to stay hiking or not.

The Hike Inn is conveniently located on Fontana Road/Route 28 in a beautiful part of NC. The owners offer shuttle service to Appalachian Trail hikes which are closeby. The rooms are very well-equipped with a mini fridge, WiFi, microwave, coffee machine, tv with satellite cable, and bathroom (toilet and shower, of course). The town of Robbinsville is a 15-minute drive with restaurants (Nutz and Buttz BBQ is very good) and Fontana Dam is approximately 15 minutes away. Nancy, one of the owners, is extraordinarily helpful and even took the time to show me the fertilizer she uses on her rhododendrons. I believe many folks who stay here are hikers coming off the Appalachian Trail. My dad and I drove over in the spring for a long weekend to get a good full-day hike in and take in some very nice mountain scenery. Final note: the inn is cash-only (no credit cards).

I used the Hike Inn's Appalachian Trail shuttle services and have nothing but good things to say about Nancy. She is the sweetest lady, and she provided me with all information up front when I was scheduling my shuttle. I really enjoyed talking to her during the shuttle ride. She let me park at the inn, which was included in the total price, as I had heard that parking at Fontana Dam overnight may not be the safest. I ended up running behind schedule during the last 4 or so miles of my hike for her to pick me up, but she still waited for me and even had a cold Powerade for me when I finished my hike!
